Traveler
Guitar

Blues
City Music would like to introduce you to Traveler Guitar
as our new guitar line especially for those that travel or need a
big sound from a smaller sized guitar.
Most
of you know that my real job is flying as a Boeing 727 Captain for
FedEx, and in the fall of 2009 or early spring of 2010, Ill
switch to the Boeing 777 strictly flying long haul international trips.
Ive carried everything on the road with me including a Taylor
Baby, Gibson SG, Fender Strat, and Samick PRS style double
cutaway electric guitars. Sure, they all worked fine, but were way
too heavy and wouldnt fit in the overhead compartment on passenger
jets very well at all. Forget trying to fit these on regional jets.
Even when I was traveling in uniform as a passenger, the flight attendants
werent too cooperative with me when I asked to put my guitar
in their coat closet. This led me to the Traveler Guitar Company in
Redlands, California.
Recently,
I acquired 4 guitars from Traveler Guitar as my start up inventory.
Each one of the models I chose are different in scope and style, but
I personally settled on the EG-1 Escape in AAA black laminate as my
travel choice. It is 5 lbs. and measures 31.5" x 12" in
the gig bag. The setup from the factory was nice, and it came in a
very rugged and well-built gig bag. Once I had my guitar tech do a
setup to my liking including replacing the stock humbucker with a
Fat Tone Pickups Fat Bucker Super humbucker of which I'm
a dealer, this guitar REALLY CAME ALIVE. It is not a toy guitar, it
is the real deal, and I could gig with this guitar if I chose to without
any worries right out of the box. It comes with jumbo frets, while
the neck is close to a 50s Gibson profile but fast as well.
The Pocket Rocket works great with a headphone jack, (dont forget
to turn it off), and you can run this guitar via a standard jack to
any guitar amp or Tascam, Korg Pandora, etc. mp3 trainer with ease.
So, if you are looking for an awesome choice in a smaller sized but
totally big feeling and sounding guitar, give the Traveler guitar
line a try.
For
those that might want any upgrades from the original setup, Blues
City Music can it setup to your liking by our guitar tech, and install
a Fat Tone Pickup humbucker in it as well.
If
you have any questions, by all means let us know. I've found my last
travel guitar, and I know you will too.

Escape
EG-1
In early 2006
Traveler Guitar was busy at work updating the Escape line
for 2007 when our engineer suggested that we make contact
with the internationally recognized guitar builder John
Carruthers for some design input. An immediate friendship
between John and Traveler Guitar blossomed and the end result
is a completely updated line of beautiful and sophisticated
instruments which exemplify Traveler Guitar's ingenuity
and John Carruthers' attention to detail and extraordinary
eye for beauty.
For 15 years
Traveler Guitar has set the standard for what portable instruments
ought to look, feel and sound like; with the all new, fully-loaded
Traveler Escape EG-1, we have raised the bar once again.
Building upon the ideas of our already successful Escape
line, we have created a new travel guitar for the electric
purist. The Escape EG-1 is our top of the line electric
travel guitar complete with a built in headphone amplifier
from Pocket Rock-It, a full-size humbucker, a full 25 1/2
inch scale, 22 jumbo frets, an array of classic colors and
a top-of-the-line custom gig-bag from High Sierra. Pocket
Rock-It's custom electronics provide classic clean and distortion
tones, both through the headphones and through a traditional
amplifier. If you're a serious traveler, and an even more
serious electric guitar player, then the Escape EG-1 is
the most sophisticated electric travel guitar you'll ever
play.

MK-II
When Traveler
Guitar released their ever popular Escape series guitars
in 2003, we not only exceeded the expectations of guitar
purists, but also our own dedicated customer base. In
2007 we did it again with the Escape MK-II line. The
updated Escape line still includes a full-scale steel
string, classical, and bass model. Traveler Guitar consulted
with revolutionary guitar builder John Carruthers to
improve the ergonomics of the Escape line; making the
MK-II feel more like a traditional guitar than ever
before. Not only has the body been updated, but the
new MK-II also boasts a custom Element-Hybrid pickup
system from none other than the industry's leading pickup
innovator, L.R. Baggs. All three models come equipped
with the system which has onboard electronics with a
2-band EQ, a built in headphone amplifier, and like
all Travelers, the ability to be plugged directly into
a traditional amplifier for live applications. The entire
Escape MK-II line features classic finishes with elegant
binding and ebonized fingerboard. This top of the line
acoustic series from Traveler comes complete with a
road worthy gig-bag; making the Escape MK-II the absolute
best solution for acoustic players on the go.

Speedster
The Traveler
Speedster is the electric evolution our original Pro-Series
model. Known best for its attractive retro design and
removable "teardrop" upper arm support, this
full 24 inch scale guitar is ideal for the electric
player. 2007 marks the transition from the Speedster's
original machine-turned-aluminum accents to an updated
chrome, giving the guitar a bold new look. The 22-fret
Speedster comes packed with a high output dual blade
humbucker, a fully adjustable bridge and the look, feel
and sound of a full body electric. Smart engineering
gives the Speedster its remarkable tone and sustain,
which you will have to hear to believe. Whether you
are playing lead or rhythm, the Speedster is the ultimate
compact traveling companion both on the road and on
stage.
