Replacement Tubes & Parts

*** All tubes listed below are exact replacements for Soldano amps. These model types were given to Blues City Music by Mike Soldano himself.***

We recommend purchasing at least the 1st and 2nd preamp stage 12AX7/ECC83S tubes (this is the first and second preamp tube next to the guitar input jack) as emergency spares for your amp, since these two positions wear the fastest in most amps. Put these in your guitar/amp accessory case along with spare fuses and you have all you need in a quick access parts kit for your amp. No guitar player should ever be caught at a gig without a simple spare parts kit.

For new Soldano amplifier customers, we can easily fit spare tubes into your amp box when shipping your amp to you, so you won't have any additional shipping charges incurred from buying tubes elsewhere. Plus, you'll know that you purchased the correct replacements if they are ever needed.

IF AND WHEN YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR TUBES, AND USE THE TUBE TYPES THAT WE HAVE PROVIDED, you are not required to rebias your Soldano amp since it left Soldano with identical ones when it was made/shipped. Again, this is information provided by Mike Soldano, but if it makes you feel more comfortable, then check or rebias your amp as you see fit.

Just remember, tubes are like automobile tires. If you drive them hard as in play your guitar very loud and often, then they will wear faster. In this case, for the professional musician, a yearly tube replacement/amp check up would be in order. For the bedroom player, this might not even be an issue during the life of your amp.

Preamp Tubes
- JJ ECC83S - $14.95 each.
- Electro Harmonix EH 12AX7 - $14.95 each.
- Tung-Sol 12AX7 - $19.95 each.

For KT 66 players - New Sensor/Electro Harmonix has just announced that they are making an exact duplicate of the original Genelux KT 66 output tube. I mentioned this to Mike Soldano and he said he would gladly take a look at that tube to see how it looks and sounds, and if it passes his test, he can start offering this highly acclaimed tube to those players seeking a large bottle KT 66 amplifier.
