Diamond
Amps

www.diamondamplification.com
***Great news from Diamond Amplification!***
Blues City Music has been selected as a premier dealer which allows
us to implement a new incentive program for purchases of Diamond Amplification
products. Call ASAP for the details, but you'll like what you hear!
Based
in Houston, Texas, Diamond was started and is owned by Jeff Diamant
with Martin Golub, a brilliant amp engineer who worked with Bob Bradshaw
(a guru and genius in his own right and the master of interface systems)
at Custom Audio Electronics for 15 years. The two have been involved
in rig building, pedal boards, amplification and the related for a
combined total of over 40 years of experience. Born out of frustration
with many of the products on the market, Jeff and Martin set out to
design their amps in such a way that eliminates those little (and
often big) things that that players have to deal with on a day to
day basis. As both have hit plenty of stages in the past, Jeff and
Martin believe that the player has enough to worry about so working
around the shortfalls of your amp just shouldnt be one of them. As
a result, nearly every past, present and future employee at Diamond
is a live player and/or touring guitar tech. This ensures that in
everything we do, we have the players perspective in mind. All Diamond
Amps are supported for life with the original owner, 3 years for parts
and labor, and 90 days for preamp and output vacuum tubes. Most hiccups
can normally be corrected by contacting them directly or you can have
Blues City Music intervene to help you get the answers you deserve.

These
are images of Lynn's personal "one off" Diamond Spitfire
II amplifier on display at the 2010 Winter NAMM show in Los Angeles,
California. 4 AAAA flame top maple head shell with gold knobs, signed
on the back by Diamond owner, Jeff Diamant. The other three killer
one off amps on display at the NAMM show sold immediately and went
to Asia.
Diamond
Amplification is in the process of building custom and limited issues
of their amplifiers during 2010, so standby as Blues City Music is
taking a look at what they offer. No telling what you might see with
this new lineup. Right now, I'm looking at a limited run of Spec Ops.

About Spec Op: The
Spec Op features a clean channel and two distinct high gain
settings in Channel 2. The clean channel has the controls you
want and need: Volume, Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence.
The clean channel has gotten DA rave reviews from the players.
It provides you full, round and rich clean tones not customary
in high-gain heads with enough headroom to give you vintage/classic
rock tones and everything in between. The crunch channel is
voiced for a more modern, organic and open crunch sound than
traditional high-gain amps. This channel will provide you all
the gain you can want but without the extra saturation traditional
in high-gain voicings. The result is an extremely thick, updated
gain tone responsive to the direction of newer guitar sounds
while also providing rich harmonics and significant clarity
in each of the notes. Channel 2 gives you all the same controls
as the clean channel with an added benefit - a second set of
volume and gain controls! This feature gives the player the
option of having two gain settings (say more gain for chunky
heavy gain-style rhythms and less gain for more precision and
clarity when playing more staccato style passages) that are
accessible to him on the fly. The corresponding volume controls
for Gain A and Gain B allow the player to balance the volumes
between the two gain controls so you can ensure that switching
between Gain A and Gain B does not increase or decrease your
overall volume. Conversely, you can adjust the volumes to do
just that - increase or decrease overall volume when switching
from Gain A to Gain B or vice versa. Both gain controls sweep
the same gain stage so there is none of this less and more gain
stuff resulting in a channel you will never use. Simply, you
get as much or as little gain as you want or need out of Gain
A and Gain B. The Spec Op features DA's signature "low focus"
switch on the rear panel. The low focus switch provides 3 positions
- low, mid, high. Moving from low to high, the player gets to
focus the low end, tailored to his/her needs, with low end increasing
relative to the highs allowing for more low end with more focus.
Dial the knob up or down to the desired low end structure increasing
lows relative to highs giving the player the tight/focused low-end
response desired, but not customary in today's market. To top
it off, we do not want you to have to sacrifice one of the two
gain controls to a dedicated lead sound. While you certainly
can, we have added an adjustable, switchable boost that overrides
Channel 1, Channel 2A and Channel 2B. When the boost is on,
you can dial in approximately a 0 to 20db boost over all three
settings allowing you to choose any of your 3 settings and switch
on the boost to give you the extra volume you need for leads
or lead passages. The Spec Op also features a real, correctly
designed effects loop. You do not need a foot switch; you do
not have to push a button. Just plug a cable into the effects
send and the loop activates. The loop is tube buffered and will
not affect your tone. The front panel features a master volume,
which reads E. Return (effects return). When the loop is on,
the E. Return knob acts as the amp's overall master (turn this
knob up or down to increase or decrease the amps overall volume)
and the volume control for each channel acts as the effects
send level control. When the loop is off, each channel's volume
control acts as that channel's master volume! Like all current
and future Diamond Amplification products, the Spec Op features
the highest quality components and construction. Every component
was selected and tested for this head. The Spec Op features
7 selected 12AX7 preamp tubes and 4 Winged C EL34's for its
power stage. Each part was personally spec'd and tested by us
to ensure maximum performance and reliability, from the transformers
to the switches and knobs. The head features a perforated metal
grille made in 16-guage stainless steel, and an accompanying
black grille on the back of the exact shape and dimension, finished
in black powder coating (the black grilles can be added to the
front on order or later). Even the knobs are metal for look
and feel. LED's are mounted in the box to give this head its
distinctive blue glow. Even the logo is stainless steel. Corner
irons are included on every corner to add to the strength and
stability of the box.

About Spitfire: The
Spitfire I (the one channel version) is based on the clean channel
in our 100w Spec Op head. It has the controls you want and need:
Volume A, Gain A, Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume B and
Gain B. Our clean channel has gotten DA rave reviews from the
players. It provides you full, round and rich clean tones not
customary in high-gain heads with enough headroom to give you
vintage/classic rock tones and everything in between. The Spitfire
I also adds a switchable tone lift for a killer lead boost.
This head features DA's signature dual volume/gain design. This
feature gives the player the option of having two gain settings
(say for a rhythm and lead tone, or more gain for chunky heavy
gain-style rhythms and less gain for more precision and clarity
when playing more staccato style passages) that are accessible
to him on the fly. This gives you the versatility to cover the
clean, blues/Texas blues, vintage/classic rock tones as well
as a few a little hotter! The Spitfire II (the two channel version)
sports the Spitfire Is voicing in Channel 1 and a full, rich
vintage higher gain Channel 2 with DAs signature dual volume,
gain design. Channel 2s voicing is big and tight like the best
of the vintage heads with an updated feel featuring plenty of
lows and mids. The Spitfires now also feature a half-power
switch allowing the power rating to be changed from 100 to 50w
with the flip of a switch. The Spitfire line also contains DA's
signature "low focus" switch on the rear panel. The low focus
switch provides 3 positions - low, mid, high. Moving from low
to high, the player gets to focus the low end, tailored to his/her
needs, with low end increasing relative to the highs allowing
for more low end with more focus. Dial up or down to the desired
low end structure, increasing lows relative to highs without
losing tight low-end response not customary in today's market.
To retain versatility and functionality, all the Spitfire products
have a real, correctly designed effects loop. You do not need
a foot switch; you do not have to push a button. Just plug a
cable into the effects send and the loop activates. The loop
is tube buffered and will not affect your tone. The front panel
features a master volume, which reads E. Return (effects return).
When the loop is on, the E. Return knob acts as the amp's overall
master (turn this knob up or down to increase or decrease the
amps overall volume) and the volume control for each channel
acts as the effects send level control. When the loop is off,
each channel's volume control acts as that channel's master
volume! Like all current and future Diamond Amplification products,
the Spitfire features the highest quality components and construction.
Every component was selected and tested for this head. The Spitfire
features 12AX7 or ECC83 preamp tubes and 4 Svetlana Winged
C EL34's for its power stage. Each part was personally spec'd
and tested by us to ensure maximum performance and reliability,
from the transformers to the switches and knobs.

About Nitrox: The
Nitrox, DAs most ferocious head to date, features the same
quality construction our other products with outrageous amounts
of gain. The Nitrox adds more lows than DAs other high gain
amps, but remains insanely tight, which makes it perfect for
uber-heavy rhythms and precision playing. The Nitrox also focuses
heavily on thick, but smooth, upper-mids to ensure it cuts through
the mix with razor sharp precision. Channel 1 remains DAs heralded
clean channel with the same control set: Volume, Gain, Bass,
Middle, Treble and Presence. Channel 2 has the same controls
but also features DA's signature dual volume/gain design. This
feature gives the player the option of having two gain settings
(say for a rhythm and lead tone, or more gain for chunky heavy
gain-style rhythms and less gain for more precision and clarity
when playing more staccato style passages) that are accessible

E. Return (effects return). When the loop is on, the E. Return
knob acts as the amp's overall master - turn this knob up or
down to increase or decrease the amps overall volume. When the
loop is off, each channel's volume control acts as that channel's
master volume. Like all current and future Diamond Amplification
products, the Nitrox features the highest quality components
and construction. Every component was selected and tested for
this head. The Nitrox features 6 12AX7 preamp tubes and 4 Svetlana
EL34's for its power stage. Each part was personally spec'd
and tested by us to ensure maximum performance and reliability,
from the transformers to the switches and knobs. The head features
a perforated metal grille made in 16-guage steel and an accompanying
identical grille on the back. The knobs are metal for look and
feel. LED's are mounted in the box to give this head its distinctive
red glow. Even the etched zinc logo is top rate. Corner irons
are included on every corner to add to the strength and stability
of the box. All its channels are foot-switchable from the Nitrox's
footswitch (connected with a stereo cable).
