About Us Blues City Music is located in a rural suburb east of Memphis, Tennessee, the Blues capital of the world, and is owned and operated by James Burke, a full time Boeing 727 Captain/Check Airman for Federal Express. What makes this online Internet business so different is that James makes his living flying and NOT by selling guitars, amps, or pedals. Blues City Music has been a work in progress for quite some time. James has been a guitar player for 31 years but started this business in 2005 by flooring his product lines at a local Memphis guitar and amp store. At that time, his lines included Soldano, Bad Cat, and Bogner guitar amps with Samick acoustic, hollow body, semi hollow body, arch top, and solid body electric guitars. Due to issues that could not be rectified, James decided to go out on his own and run his own business strictly online with everything in place to make any customer at ease while doing business with Blues City Music. As a certified, STOCKING dealer for Soldano and Splawn amplification, you have the ability to buy from a large selection of products, or can create your own amp from model, color, or modifications as per the manufacturer, with a purchase order from Blues City Music. Either way, we are here to please. Our payment and shipping options are first class and can easily meet your expectations, so when you decide on the amp of your dreams, have no worries, your order will be processed and shipped right. Some may ask what kind of experience do we have with comparing other amp lines to either Soldano or Splawn. That's a very fair question, so to answer it, I'll say, I've owned or played through Crate, Acoustic, Sunn, Lab Series, Marshalls (new and vintage including plexis or Super Lead Tremolo's), THD, Star, SMF, Fender, Bad Cat (MiniCat, Cub, Trem Cat and Hot Cat), Bogner (Metropolis, Shiva, Ecstacy, Uberschall), and a host of others. Regardless of application, Soldano is still our favorite amp line but Splawn is a VERY close rival, and we feel that the Soldano SLO-100 is without a doubt the finest amp made in production, period Currently, I practice what I preach by playing either of my own Soldano 44 Blues City Music Signature combo amps, a Soldano 3 option SLO-100 head through a matching 4 x 12 slant cabinet with an X pattern of 2 Eminence V12 Legend Soldano tweaked 70 watt speakers and 2 Electro Voice EVM12L 300 watt Zakk Wylde BLS speakers, or my Splawn Quick Rod Plexi style head and matching 4 x 12 slant cabinet with Splawn inspired Eminence Big Block speakers for my own rig. Then I run a very busy Pedal Train Pro pedal board powered by a Voo Doo Labs Pedal Power 2 power supply to a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah > Peterson Strobe Tuner > Fulltone Octafuzz > KLON Centaur Overdrive > Fulltone Choral/Flange > Fulltone Deja Vibe 2 > Fulltone Supa-Trem > Maxon AD 999 (900 Millisecond) delay > and Creation Audio Labs Mark 4.23 (+24 db boost). All of these amps sound
fabulous with any of my primary guitars including a Gibson Custom
Shop Gary Rossington Signature Series 59 Les Paul, Tom Anderson
Cobra S, or a vintage 77 Fender Strat. A Big Thank You To: Mike
